Research week

The past week has been research week, where we're "suppost to read and catchup on work". For the first time in my life I actually did work on my week off and managed to finish both assingments Ive been given. So you could say it was a sucsess. Apart from that I slept, ate and applied for jobs. The last lesson of IT I was ill which is a pain because it seemed to be the lesson where most was learnt, meaning I still have no idea about the IT project. Hopefully over the next few weeks it will become clearer. Untill then youll have to listen to me rambling on about lessons and my life :)

Reflective thinking

Recently in class I have been learning about reflection and how to make it useful in your everyday lives and careers. Reflecting on your work consists of; what they are learning, How they are learning it, How they are using what they are learning etc. When you think about what you have learned and make notes on it, it will help you to understand and clarify your thoughts and emotions. By reflecting on things you have done you can also see where there is area for improvement. For example if you were reflecting on work you had done in a seminar earlier on in the week, you might realise that you had not understood what you thought you had learnt correctly, you might also realise that there are different ways you remember things, and can then see your stronger and weaker aspects. This can help us focus on what we have learnt and develop our knowledge further.
When reflecting on what you have learnt, there are certain ways to make it easier and more effective. You can make notes by hand talking about your reflections on your learning, and you can also use computer technology by just recording and saving your thoughts like an online journal. I guess this is what my blog is going to be like. An online journal talking about my reflections from classes and looking at how I can improve on them, so here goes. I have only been studying IT for two weeks, so I am still finding it a bit confusing and hard to get to grips with. I have never blogged before, so understanding how to use it and to follow people is a work in progress. I am going to be blogging at least once a week and reflecting on my thought, but at this point in time I do not have the slightest clue to what the lessons will be about. At the moment all I know is I have to blog about what I have learnt this week; which is how to blog. So basically you could say I am blogging about learning to blog!
p.s today I am wearing white track pants with a vest top and cardigan.

evaluation

OK, so I'm back already because Ive been made to evaluate a presentation I did in uni earlier on today. So my group decided to focus on obesity in children as it is a rising issue at the moment. Going back to why where even doing this presentation, actually has nothing to do with the topic we chose, but to analyze and asses a reliable website which focuses on our chosen topic. To find the website we used, everyone in my group looked for one each, and then we choose the best one. After we had decided on the website to use we then had to check that it was reliable for example that it was copyrighted, updated and the information was coming from reliable sources. All this information was easy to find so we then had to find some bad parts of the site, which ended up being the unnecessary adverts all over the page. We then had to deliver our presentation to the class, backing up our site and sources saying why it was a reasonably good site to use. Anyway the site we used was : www.emedicinehealth.com so check it out if you fancy a look around.

Hopefully gone for good
